By downloading, installing, or using the Stratum mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms apply to all users of the App, including users on both the free tier and paid subscription tiers.
Stratum is a student productivity application that provides a subject-aware study timer, deadline and assignment calendar, session task lists, study statistics, and related features (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is available on iOS and, in the future, Android.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at stratumstudy@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their explicit permission. One person may not maintain multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits.

Stratum offers two tiers of billing: monthly and annually.
Billing
All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) in accordance with their respective terms of service and billing policies. We do not directly handle your payment details.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's App Store or Google Play account settings.
Refunds
All refund requests are governed by Apple's or Google's respective refund policies. We do not issue refunds directly. To request a refund, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support.
Free trial
Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial period is forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will take effect at the next renewal period and will be communicated in advance via email or in-app notice.
The App, including its design, graphics, source code, and all content created by Stratum, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial study purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Your data — the subjects, assessments, sessions, and tasks you create — remains yours. We do not claim ownership over content you generate within the App.
You retain ownership of all content you create in the App (subject names, task text, etc.). By storing content in the App, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you add to the App does not violate third-party rights or applicable law.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL STRATUM, ITS DEVELOPERS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR ACADEMIC OUTCOMES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, OUR LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other users or the integrity of the Service.
You may delete your account at any time from within the App settings. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and notify you via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
